Summer morning

The Blackwood Forest is a favourite location for many families, and people travel from quite far away to have a session here! I like to think of it as Blackwood’s best kept secret.

We start at one top corner of the forest to visit the site of the former orchard manager’s cottage where interesting and rustic ruins remain. There are steps leading nowhere, welcoming trees to climb, long grass to hide behind and wide open fields to run through. Most kids LOVE this bit!

The forest itself provides a great backdrop with fallen logs making convenient seating, and tall trunks to play hide n seek.

The best part is it’s a great outdoor location all year round, even during the overcast and cooler winter months.
