A year in photos – top 100

I love to reflect on each year of working with the wonderful Adelaide families who trust me with their precious family photos. I have the best job, getting to meet and connect with so many different people and hearing their stories.

Our team compiled a selection of 100 of our favourite portraits from 2021 and here’s why:

• My whole mission since I started Deb Smith Photography 12 years ago has been to provide an affirming, unique experience for people through child and family photography. ​ 
• I’ve been working really hard to grow and reach more people so that the world knows family photography is worth it
• I want to make sure our work aligns with our values (fun, natural, and caring)
• For our team to challenge ourselves creatively

What makes an image stand out:

• Emotion: how the image makes you feel
• Narrative: does the image tell a story?
• Artistic qualities: framing, lighting, the unexpected
